I love elopements for many reasons, the main ones being no pressure, more intimacy, and of course: flexibility for photos. This Old San Juan, Puerto Rico elopement is the perfect example of what a curated petite wedding can be!
Condado Vanderbilt Pre-Wedding
Wilmary and Drew selected the Condado Vanderbilt for their getting ready photos as well as their First Look. Since they would be arriving together to the ceremony site, they didn’t want to forego the ‘groom reaction’ photos. I suggested the lovely indoor garden at the Condado Vanderbilt as it offers some privacy. Andrew waited inside first, face covered. Upon meeting Wilmary, both were teary-eyed and overwhelmed with happiness.
Outdoor Ceremony at El Morro – Puerto Rico Elopement
Wil and Drew wanted an iconic Old San Juan ‘garita’ in their photos. We selected a private spot by the great lawn in El Morro Fort where they said their vows to each other. They even had a little toast to celebrate! Props to Ana María, the officiant, for bringing the bride & groom champagne.
Newlywed Portraits around Old San Juan
Eloping gives you the opportunity to plan your wedding & elopement photos with a relaxed approach. In addition to the beautiful moments captured at Condado Vanderbilt, W&D had a session during sunset around El Morro and colorful Old San Juan. They signed their marriage papers in a historical plaza overlooking the ocean. I call that: wedding goals!
