How far in advance should I book my wedding photography?

When should we book our photographer? Certainly, this is one of the most common questions asked by those who are planning a wedding. The answer: right after you have booked your wedding venue.
Constantly, we receive calls or inquiries for wedding photography even a month before the big day, and sadly we have to turn the bride & groom away. Professional photographers usually dedicate themselves fulltime to document one event per week to offer the service with the best quality. Just like wedding venues, we are booked from 6 to 15 months (or more) in advance. A good photographer will not be available forever and last minute available dates will only occur in the slim chance that an already existing client reschedules their wedding date.
The wedding photographer is in charge of documenting one of the most important days of your life. This is why when you find a photographer that you feel comfortable with, you enjoy their vision and their work, you must contact them to book your date as soon as possible to save yourself the dissapointment that it’s too late and you will now have to settle with whoever you can find. Yes – decoration, dinner, the cake – all the details are important but remember: none will last past a few hours! The only thing from your wedding that will last forever and decades after make you relive each moment of your big day is photography.
