When Chris texted me he had a surprise planned for Mariangely, I had no idea what an amazing experience it would turn out to be. On their day, after taking a sneak peek at the reception venue and meeting the groom first, I arrived at the hotel where the nervous bride waited. I knew the wedding was going to be a tearjerker when Mariangely started to cry as I mentioned seeing her future husband looked very excited. More tears were shed from Mara, Chris and their closest family during the ceremony. The bride and groom couldn’t look happier as they said I do! Once we were at the beautiful hacienda for the newlywed session, the look on the bride’s face was priceless as the groom surprised her with a helicopter ride. I’d never traveled in a helicopter myself, but was totally up for the challenge of shooting this unique experience. The bride showered the groom with thank yous and kisses as we flew from over Puerto Rico’s gorgeous mountains to Old San Juan’s coastline. As we flew by El Morro, we were able to witness an awe inspiring sunset together. As you can imagine — C&M’s joy carried on to the reception — where they danced and shared many more lovely moments. Chris & Mara: thank you for choosing me to capture your day, it’s days like these that make me thrilled to be a wedding photographer!
